An Acer Laptop Under 500

I’m a huge fan of Acer laptops so finding an Acer laptop under 500 dollars is something I’ve looked at more than a few times. My own personal laptops are Acers because they have the best quality at the lowest price. We’ve looked through the entire range of cheap Acer laptops and we think we’ve found the best.

Acer Laptop Features

Now we look at a lot of features on the laptops we review but there’s one thing I want to mention before getting into the technical specs. My own personal laptops are Acer laptops and for good reason. Whether you’re looking for the best laptops under 500 or your budget is much higher – Acer has outstanding quality. Not only do you get great quality and value but it’s the small features which really sells them on me. I’m a clumsy person by nature and I’ve dropped, tripped over and general damaged a lot of laptops in my time.

You mention it and I’ve done it. Now, to be fair, laptops are not meant to be built to withstand this kind of thing. But I’ve had a Sony laptop never turn back on and several Dell laptops which needed replacement parts. My main Acer laptop? I tripped over the cable and sent it flying across the kitchen floor. With most laptops tripping over the wire alone could rip the power connection from the motherboard. My Acer laptop needed a reboot but was otherwise fine. My kitchen tile suffered more than the laptop did. And that’s quality.

Acer laptop under 500 dollarsIf I had my way all of the reviews on this site would features Acer laptops exclusively. From acer mini laptops to cheap acer laptops around the $500 I’d have the whole lot. But I’m trying to be impartial so you’ll have to forgive this one review of complete bias towards all things Acer.

That said, there’s a lot of Acer laptops and I think I’ve found the best Acer laptop under 500 dollars. I’m actually sorely tempted to get another one of these for myself if it wasn’t for the constant reminders that I already own more technology than I ever make use of. But the laptop in question is the Acer Aspire TimelineX.

  • The size and portability of a netbook with the power of a laptop.
  • Acers Multi-Gesture Touchpad.
  • Great battery life
  • Lots of inbuilt features – webcam, WiFi, Bluetooth and card reader etc…
It’s a really small and light laptop. Normally for this kind of size you need to go with a netbook but this packs portability (less than an inch thick!) and power. Comes with everything you need to get started (including software) and is just generally an awesome deal.
The only problems?
  • If you’re not used to a small laptop you’ll need to get used to the keyboard (its’ easy though).
  • Only USB 2.0 ports (everything will still work but it doesn’t have the latest USB 3.0 file transfer speed).
Getting used to a smaller laptop is pretty easy and it’s so worth it. This thing is so small and light you can take it anywhere. I’d like to see an upgraded USB 3.0 port in there but all it really means is things transfer a little slower. It’s still not exactly ‘slow’ and if that’s the trade you have to make for a great deal on an Acer laptop under 500 dollars I say it’s worth it.

 

Get an Acer Laptop Under 500

As I mentioned before the Acer Aspire TimelineX is usually much more expensive than $500. It’s available on Amazon for lower and it’s one of the best deals online at the moment. It’s a great laptop for college or work – great for the family web browsing and it’s actually not got a bad graphics card in there so it wouldn’t be so bad for gaming.
